Letter sent to England, via Cape Horn route, aboard the Black Ball Line Champion of the Seas, then forwarded to Switzerland, via France. Reverse shows MELBOURNE/VICTORIA departure, LIVERPOOL/SHIP transit, plus blue LOCARNO arrival c.d.s. Front shows partial red London transit, red Crown/REGISTERED cachet, red COLONIES/&c.ART.13 accountancy marking, ANGL/AMB.CALAIS French entry marking, plus French CHARGE handstamp.
