TIBET. c. 1925, First Issue,1/3t indigo blue, complete sheet. (Waterfall #38 [21F8]). This is by far the scarcest of the 1912 values when found in complete sheets with margins. Some sheets, such as this, were cut close and sold by the Post Office (See N. Rhodes article on the Williamson Collection [Postal Journal #36, 1983.]). AIl sheets of this value are very scarce, indigo blue printing is very rare! (Waterfall rates a sheet at 12 times that of the most common printings of this value.). Without gum as issued. Very Fine. TIBET. 1933, Third Issue, imperf, 2t scarlet, a fine used complete sheet of 12 subjects, Setting I, State 2 (cliche 2 NE corner above NW corner of cliche 3), all cancelled by four strikes of 'Shigatse' handstamps in black, together with an unused sheet, one stamp with stain, from the same setting but in the rose carmine shade. TIBET. 1912-60, highly interesting research balance accumulation, presenting stamps and postal history of this challenging area. Two very early hand written letters with native negative handstamps. First stamp design 1912-50 values 1/3 t. blue, 1/2 t. violet, 2/3 t. carmine, 1 t. vermilion & 1 s. green showing a variety of mint/used stamps, singles and pairs on pieces and two letters. The Lion 1933-60 TIBET design, all values are represented mint/used showing interesting array of shades, papers, printing settings, plate varieties, imperforate and privately pin-perforated stamps. In addition good range of 16 covers (2 bisected noted, some with additional Indian stamps) and one picture postcard. Official stamps are represented as well mint/used, small sheetlet of 6 and two covers. An excellent lot for study. Viewing highly recommended. (20 covers 1 postcard plus stamps). (Photo). TIBET. 1912-50, two album pages with 1/6t. green (shades), with unused (5) including a corner pair (position. 11-12) in a dull green early shade, used (18) with a corner block (position. 1-2/5-6) used with Lhasa (Type 1) negative circular handstamp, cancelled sheet of 12 in a grey green shade and a cover franked on reverse with a single example tied by 'Gyantse' (Type 1) negative circular handstamp. TIBET. 1933-60, two local covers, with pairs of 1tr. One with 1 top right. red, imperforate large margin horizontal pair in an extremely worn state, tied bold 'Gyantse' handstamp in black. The second one with 1 top right. cinnamon, a fine corner marginal pair from top left of sheet (cliche types 6-4, thus probably from Setting III), poorly tied by over-watered handstamp in black. TIBET. 1933-60, very nice selection of 1/2tr. yellow shades, in 6 small sheetlets of 12 subjects with different type positions printed on brown ticked native wove paper, medium native paper cloudy print, rare greenish yellow - Setting IV; bright yellow on medium wove paper setting IV. TIBET. 1933-60, 2/3tr. blue (Setting III & IV) pin-perforated on medium wove native paper, selection of 6 sheetlets of 12 subjects, 2/3tr. blackish violet blue (Setting IVb) very clear printing on medium wove native paper & same sheetlet with position 1 tipped- very late printing, 2/3 top right. in gray blue and indigo shade. TIBET (India). 1924 cover to North Wales, franked by India 1911-22 3p. bluish grey in a block of eight, some peripheral aging, tied by four fine strikes of YATUNG-TIBET / VIA SILIGURI datestamps (June 14) in black. Reverse with manuscript ‘Found in the Letter-Box without Contents, Yatung 14/6/24’ and signed by the Postmaster at Yatung in red ink. Rare. SG 153. (Photo). Est. 200 - 300 CHF.

TIBET. 1933-60, 1tr. carmine imperforate, used on 1947 cover to Kathmandu, Nepal tied by 'Lhasa' c.d.s. in black, further stamp was formerly present with part datestamp showing and stamp missing, Indian 1a. brown applied and tied in transit at Pharijong Indian P.O.
